The Lord’s Discipline
Scripture References
2 Samuel 11:1-17
James 1:2-4
Devotional
Discipline is often misunderstood as punishment, but because of Jesus, those who belong to Him no longer live under condemnation. Instead, God disciplines His children as a loving Father, using conviction, correction, and difficult seasons to shape us into the likeness of Christ. His discipline is never meant to drive us away, but to draw us closer, leading us toward the life He created us to live.
"My son, do not despise the LORD’s discipline, and do not resent his rebuke, because the LORD disciplines those he loves, as a father the son he delights in." Proverbs 3:11-12
