Psalms of Ascent
Scripture References
Psalm 120
Psalm 121
Devotional
Psalms 120-134 are called the Psalms of Ascent. These were songs sung by God’s people as they journeyed to Jerusalem. They were meant to reorient hearts to God, moving from distress to trust, striving to surrender, sadness to joy and waiting to worship. We can join in that same rhythm when we lift our eyes, trust God’s process, and walk with Him every day.
He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. -Isaiah 40:29-31
